Comfy in Fuzzi Bunz at Malayka House

Caring / Philanthropy

Mother of Eden, like many other globally conscious companies in the U.S., is aware of the hardships faced by millions of orphaned babies and children around the world. We recognize that, sadly, these millions of young people aren't afforded the opportunity of clean diapers – a necessity we often take for granted.
We at Mother of Eden are committed to making the lives of these babies and their caregivers a little easier. After all, we are a company that cares.
Through our philanthropic efforts over the past several years, we have been able to provide thousands of Fuzzi Bunz diapers to orphaned babies in the U.S., Africa and Ukraine. Here are some of our efforts over the years:

Aid for Orphans (Ukraine)

Aid for Orphans was a project in January 2003 that had successfully collected and donated formula, cereal, clothing, diapers, and other necessities to needy children in the Ukraine. Mother of Eden was proud to assist in the cause and donated 1,000+ Fuzzi Bunz diapers. We also donated our time by sewing other specialty sewn items including fleece blankets, jump suits and beanies.

Amani Baby Cottage (Uganda)

Mother of Eden donated several hundred Fuzzi Bunz diapers to the Amani Baby Cottage in Jinja, Uganda. The orphanage is currently home to 60 orphaned and abandoned children, many who have lost their parents to AIDS, birth complications or abandonment. On the orphanage's website, we were able to see that the babies were getting good use out of the diapers. Check out some of our favorite pictures: Shipment of Fuzzi Bunz | Babirye in the Hammock

Healing Hands for Haiti

Healing Hands for Haiti is a non-profit grass roots organization dedicated to fostering the expansion and quality of rehabilitation services for physically disabled adults and children in Haiti. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and the fifth poorest in the world. Orphaned babies and children live a daily struggle to meet basic needs. And with streets overrun with trash, Haiti's orphans are in desperate need for cloth diapers. We are proud to have partnered with this organization through our donation of 500 Fuzzi Bunz diapers.

Malayka House (Uganda)

Several months after our donation to the Amani Baby Cottage, we were ecstatic to receive a note from a volunteer at the Malayaka House, a home for orphaned children rescued from the crossfire of racial tensions, tribal hatred and extreme poverty. Having discovered our diapers at the neighboring Amani Baby Cottage, this volunteer told us via email, "We recently visited Amani Baby Cottage in Jinja, Uganda … where we discovered Fuzzi Bunz and the possibilities of life without nappy rash! We were so impressed with Fuzzi Bunz, as we are having terrible luck with our current diapering system."

After we sent her a donation of diapers, she wrote us again, “I wanted to thank you once again. The Fuzzi Bunz have really made our lives a whole lot easier and better. Thanks a Million!

Miracle Diapers (U.S.)

Miracle Diapers is a non-profit organization based in Oregon that provides cloth diapers and other natural living items to families in need in the U.S. and around the world. We donated several hundred diapers to the organization thanks to our coordination with the organization’s founder, Ruth Buchholz, who tirelessly volunteers her time to run Miracle Diapers.

Raising Malawi (Africa)

Our donation to the Raising Malawi project is currently underway. Raising Malawi, co-founded by Michael Berg and Madonna, has set out to revitalize the lives of hundreds of thousands of orphaned and venerable children in Malawi, Africa. We have provided the organization with 500 Fuzzi Bunz diapers that are earmarked for children at:

  • The Home of Hope: The Home of Hope is the working name for Mchinji Mission Orphanage, one of the largest children's homes in Malawi. It offers hope and a new life for 500 children who have lost one or both parents; and
  • The Crisis Nursery in Uganda: The Crisis Nursery takes in abandoned and abused babies, offering these young citizens of the world rehabilitation and a fresh start at life.

We are committed to continuing to help provide cloth diapers to orphans in the U.S. and around the world. If you know of an organization in the U.S. or abroad that could benefit from a Fuzzi Bunz diaper donation, please email us your suggestions at moreinfo@fuzzibunz.com.
